Are There Non-pharmacological Ways to Treat a Cold if i’m Pregnant?

Colds are common nuisances in pregnancy! Many women want to avoid taking unnecessary medications in pregnancy, and with a cold there are many things you can try to help your symptoms that don’t involve a prescription. These include:

Making sure you get adequate rest and nutrition

Saline nasal sprays

Using a humidifier

Salt water gargling

Sore throat lozenges

Of course, if you have a fever, are not improving, or feel unwell enough to keep food or liquids down or take care of yourself, be sure to let your doctor or midwife know.
