Can all the Baby Gear I Used With my First Baby be re-Used With my Second Child?

The best part of not being a first-time parent (besides already knowing most of what you are doing) is being able to spend less money on all the “stuff” a baby requires the second time around. However, you need to take a few safety steps before taking all the gear out of storage.

First, make sure you check expiration dates. Things like car seats do actually expire, so be sure whatever you use has not passed this date. Also make sure there haven’t been any recalls on any items you use, such as cribs, strollers, or other related gear. You can usually check this by having the item serial number on hand and checking the company website. If anything is discolored or warped (such as on older bottles, nipples, or pump tubing) toss it and buy new ones. Now is also a good time to take stock of any children’s medications you have and make sure none of them are expired.
