Is it oK to Give my Baby Peanut Butter?
As long as baby meets certain criteria for safety, peanut butter can be introduced in small amounts. The criteria are as follows: baby is at least 6 months of age and shows signs of readiness, such as holding head up on his own; sitting upright on his own without assistance (using a device that holds a baby upright means he is not ready); is interested in eating; can display signs of hunger and fullness (turns head away when done); and no longer pushes food out with his tongue.
