More and more of daily life is becoming digital these days. This makes technology hard to avoid. While children under 18 months of age should have no screen time with the exception of video chatting with family and familiar faces, older children should be able to utilize educational material for their screen time.

Children need to experience the world in which they live firsthand rather than having a virtual experience. Therefore, it is better to get out and do, play, create, socialize, and experiment with the world around them. Having these kinds of experiences is crucial in developing their social, cognitive, and spatial skills.
