What is the Difference Between ADD and ADHD?
There are three types of attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, or ADHD. First, the inattentive type, formerly ADD. Your child may seem “spacey,” having a lack of focus and is easily distracted.
Second, there is the hyperactive/impulsive type. These individuals seem to fidget, have trouble remaining still even for short periods of time, and/or act without thinking.
Finally, there is the combined type, the individual has traits of both inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive types. If you are concerned that your child may have ADHD, see your doctor for an appropriate diagnosis and to discuss treatment options.
