When can I Give my Baby Dessert?
Infants and young toddlers should be eating a nutritious diet, with a focus on all food groups (protein, dairy, grains, fruits, and vegetables). They should also receive a wide variety of foods, especially in the first two years of life. This is a time when their acceptance of new foods is likely, and they can benefit from different flavors, textures, and nutrients.
Early exposure to unhealthy foods can form unhealthy food preferences. Since normal growth and development are high priorities for baby, make sure you offer the foods and nutrients that aid this process.
