For new Moms: Prevention of Endometriosis

A recent study showed that breastfeeding has a protective effect against endometriosis. The findings were that women who breastfed for a longer period of time has a lower chance of contracting endometriosis later in their lives. This effect was compounded when they exclusively breastfed for longer periods (i.e. they delayed the introduction of solid foods). The protective nature of breastfeeding was increased when they breastfed more than one child.
