How Does Pregnancy Affect Treatment of Breast Cancer?

Of all the cancer diagnoses in pregnant women, breast cancer is the most common one. The research conducted until now indicates that whether you decide to continue the pregnancy or not, the outcome of breast cancer is not affected by this decision. The treatment options in general remain the same whether or not a woman chooses to remain pregnant. However, chemotherapy and surgery are performed in the second trimester, and if radiation is required – it is administered after delivery.
