Of all the cases of infertility, only 1-3% are caused specifically due to fibroids. More commonly, fibroids cause diminished fertility due to various reasons: they can obstruct the fallopian tubes by their location, they affect the implantation of the embryo if large enough to distort the internal structure of the uterus.
