Menstrual Cycle After Delivery

By Nabta Team
It is difficult to predict when a woman’s menstrual cycle is going to be back on track after delivering a baby. For women who are not breastfeeding or breastfeeding irregularly the menstrual period tends to return sooner – with the average returning at 7 weeks after delivery. The menstrual cycle occurs much later in lactating women – from 2-18 months after delivery. Even after getting their period back, it could take some time for the cycle to be regular as the body is taking time to recover from pregnancy and childbirth.
