Nutrition When Trying to Conceive
By Nabta Team
A deficiency in iodine has been shown to reduce the chances of getting pregnant.
Iodine can be found in healthy quantities in unpasteurised dairy products (although these are to be avoided at all costs during pregnancy), eggs, sea vegetables, and several types of seafood especially white fish.
While there are many dietary guidelines for the amount of iodine to be had during pregnancy and for as long as you are lactating (breastfeeding), there is no consensus regarding the exact amount of iodine you should consume when you are planning to have a baby.
So make sure you get some iodine, but don't overdo it.
