Is Pregnancy Linked to Developing Cervical Cancer?
By Nabta Team
Being pregnant multiple times (specifically, having more than six children) has been shown to be a risk factor for cervical cancer.
One study since 2008 found that women who’ve given birth seven or more times are more susceptible to developing cancer of the cervix. Since the publication of the research, a lot of theories have been thrown about regarding the role of reproductive hormones in the development of cervical cancer.
A more recent study noted that childbirth, i.e. vaginal deliveries, had a more important role to play in the aetiology of cervical cancer than pregnancy itself.
