Breast Reconstruction Surgery

By Nabta Team
Mastectomy might seem like a daunting surgery – it changes a part of you that you’ve taken for granted all your life. However, there are reconstruction options available after breast cancer surgery be it mastectomy or lumpectomy. Reconstruction can be done with two different types of implants: using implants like silicone or saline, or using the woman’s own body tissue. In addition, there are options to perform the reconstruction either in the same surgery as the mastectomy or at a later time where it is performed as a separate operation altogether. These have to be decided on an individual basis and should be discussed with your cancer team.
