Babies aged birth to 6 months need 40 milligrams per day; infants aged 7-12 months need 50 mg per day; toddlers aged 1-3 years need 15 mg per day; and children aged 4-8 years need 25 mg per day.

Good sources of vitamin C are: red pepper, orange juice, orange, vegetable juice, kiwi, ready-to-eat cereals, green pepper, broccoli, strawberries, Brussels sprouts, papaya, honeydew, pineapple, mango, cantaloupe, cabbage, kale, cauliflower, tangerine, potato, tomato, peach, and spinach.
