The acne, which looks similar to acne in teenagers, resolves on its own without any specific treatment. The skin should be washed just once daily with a very gentle, unscented, creamy cleanser such as Cetaphil Baby®.
If the skin is very dry, adding a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free moisturizer or emollient, such as Aquafor®, Babyganics®, or a soothing protective ointment in a thin layer at bedtime can help. If Aquafor® is too greasy for daytime, then consider an unscented lotion specifically formulated for baby’s skin, such as Babyganics® eczema care skin protection cream. The key is to choose something fragrance- and dye-free and to avoid the eye area.
