Why Shouldn’t I Give my Baby Solid Food for 6 Months?

For the first 6 months of a baby’s life, breast milk or formula is the perfect food! It has all the protein, fat, carbohydrates, and vitamins a baby needs in one little package. No solid even comes close! Giving solids too early simply replaces calories consumed as a perfect food by those with a much less perfect food! And although researchers are not totally sure, there are some researchers that believe holding off on solid foods a little longer might reduce the chances of a food allergy and increase your child’s motor development.
