Early detection of breast cancer is important to improve survival rates as well as the quality of life of the cancer survivor. 90% of women diagnosed at the early stages of breast cancer survive for 5 years compared to 15% of women who are diagnosed at a later stage. Early detection of breast cancer is a trifecta of breast self-awareness, well-woman exam, and mammograms.
