1. Baby\’s first week
Your first week with your baby will revolve around eating, sleeping, voiding and stooling.
Newborns should be feed on demand this week and you can expect them to sleep for 14 to 17 hours each day. Babies will normally void and stool at least once in the first day. As a general rule, pediatrician look for one wet diaper on day of life one, two on day two, three wet diapers on day of life three and so on.

2. Recovering moms
As you adjust to life with a newborn, your body will continue to recover from the marathon of giving birth. While you may want to spend all of your time catering to your baby’s needs, be sure to take care of yourself, too. Keep an eye out for any troubling symptoms, and monitor your emotional well-being.

3. Feeding your baby
Your baby is growing rapidly during these first few weeks. That means that his or her appetite is probably quite strong. You can look for breastfed babies to nurse every 2-3 hours for 15-20 minutes and for formula-fed babies to take in 3-4 ounces every 3-4 hours round the clock.
