During Pregnancy and birth, women’s bodies go through a lot of changes to be able to do the miraculous things that it does.
One of the parts of the body that can be affected is the pelvic floor. The pelvic floor is a broad sling of muscles, the back ligaments, and sheet-like tissues that stretch from your pubic bone at the front of your body, to the base of your spine at the pelvic floor. After pregnancy and birth, these muscles and ligaments may need a little attention to get them back to their best in supporting you and your non-pregnant body.
Neglecting this could lead to stress incontinence as well as other health issues.
Postpartum Physiotherapy teaches you exercises and gentle workout regimes to strengthen your pelvic floor and regain your control.
Fulfilled in partnership with Manzil Health.
One on one sessions allow for a more detailed learning experience and faster results for you. When you are feeling fully relaxed and able to discuss feely, our physio will sensitively address you concerns and give you a program to follow.
Your pelvic floor supports your bladder, bowel, and uterus (womb) and gives you control over when you empty your bladder and bowel.
Having a weak pelvic floor makes it harder for you to squeeze the muscles and sphincters at the bottom of your bladder to prevent wee from escaping. You may accidentally leak a little wee when you cough, sneeze or exercise (stress incontinence). It also means that your bowel, bladder, and womb are not well supported and can cause a heavy, dragging sensation.
Our female Licensed Physiotherapist is certified and experienced in postpartum Physiotherapy.
At times that are right for you, our physiotherapist will conduct the sessions in the comfort of your own home.
