Should I Skip Whole Milk and Introduce Reduced fat Milk to my Toddler?
If your baby is growing normally and is at a healthy body weight for his length and age, you can start him on whole cow’s milk after he turns one. If your baby is heavier than his same age peers or is at a healthy weight but carries a high risk for heart disease or obesity (from your family history), then skip the whole milk and go for reduced-fat (2%) cow’s milk. Always discuss this choice with your doctor and be sure to monitor your toddler’s growth and development.
