Are There any Complications That can Happen During a Circumcision?

For a circumcision, complications can include:

Bleeding. Any bleeding more that a quarter in diameter should be evaluated by your child’s doctor.

Infection. A yellow coating over the head of the penis is normal, but if you see pus or increasing redness on your son’s penis or if he develops a fever of over 100.4, he needs to be seen.

Trauma to the penis. If your baby doesn’t urinate in the first 8 hours after the circumcision, seek medical attention right away.
