Acupuncture Efficiency in Alleviating Pain
By Nabta Team
Acupuncture has been proven to be helpful with the chronic pain that cancer survivors face, when taken in addition to the regular pharmacological regimen that an oncologist has prescribed. Acupuncture works by the insertion of very tiny needles at specific points in the body – the depth and angle vary depending on the site. These needles are then left in for 15 to 30 minutes – however, one has to make sure that they’re going to a licensed acupuncture specialist to get the procedure done. Cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy should refrain from getting acupuncture, and should talk to their doctor if they are considering getting the procedure.
