How Much Formula Should My Baby Drink?

As baby begins to eat solid food, usually around 6 months, consumption of formula will be displaced by food. In other words, your baby should naturally decrease drinking formula as solid food intake increases.

By one year of age, your baby should be drinking about 16-20 ounces of liquid, either formula or breast milk, and the transition to cow’s milk will begin. Drinking more than 24 ounces of milk or formula at 24 months of age is considered excessive.
