What are Symptoms of a Miscarriage?

Many women will experience symptoms in early pregnancy that may cause them to worry. For example, light spotting or cramping can be entirely normal. However, heavier bleeding or spotting that doesn’t resolve or pain or cramping that doesn’t improve may be signs of a miscarriage. A gush of clear fluid like water can also be a sign something is wrong. If you have any of these symptoms, it is important to contact your obstetric provider to determine what kind of evaluation you will need.
